By now everyone knows that our Ladies did not win the World Cup. Although they put up a great effort they lost out to destiny and a team that had their entire country on their backs.
Japan came back again and again to ultimately win the Cup on penalty kicks. I cannot be happier for them because they needed it...as a nation, as a people. Joy is so little and fleeting at times of distress, but what little joy you recieve in these times can be life-changing. I can only pray that this was a life-changing moment for the people of Japan.
Being here and watching our Ladies lose was hard, but it was worth it...they showed the world that American fighting spirit, then the class we have, but so rarely demonstrate. I'm proud to stand behind this team and support them from now on. Next Up LONDON SUMMER 2012.
BTW, if I can only thank the Women's National Soccer Team for one thing, it's for introducing me to her....Abby Wambach, I'm thoroughly obsessed with you!

Ladies...you're in the World Cup Finals
I just have to say this.
I've watched the last two US women's world cup Soccer games and I'm proud of these women. When everyone else thought they were eliminated, they put their heads down and not only came back to tie it...but to win it. Then today, they pulled it out again.
These are the girls/women we should hold up in front of our daughters. Women who don't give up, who don't sell their bodies. Women we can proudly show to our daughters and say, they fought for what they wanted...they worked hard to achieve it. You should always have the never-give-up attitude and spirit like they do.
In a world where we put half-nude pop stars, ditzy celebutants and crude individuals up for our daughters to emulate, these women are refreshing and downright needed!
Congrats USA and GOOD LUCK in the Finals.
****With all that said, we can also look at the other finals team Japan. Playing for their country which is still trying to recover from the devastation suffered earlier this year.****

Abortion, how do I feel about it?
This question popped in my head after I read an article today. There is this football player named Tim Tebow, he happens to be an outward Christian (who's claim to fame is wearing bible verses on his eye black and saying God Bless at the end of interviews). He and his mother are appearing in a television ad for Focus on the Family which will air during this years Super Bowl.
You see when Tim's mom was pregnant she got really ill, slipped into a coma...was given drugs...almost died and when she awoke was told the drugs that kept her alive could have serious ramifications on her unborn child. She was advised to have an abortion. As a Christian missionary, she choose to keep her baby, no matter what. Many people believe this will be the focus of the commercial (but no one really knows for sure), and women's groups all over the country are in an uproar about it. Saying this (football) is no place to push Christian propaganda. The article I read said simply this, Tim Tebow should be able to say what he wants, when he wants...and that's that. No matter what the world at large feels about his message he has the right to say it. I wholeheartedly agree.
Although I agree, it still made me question this topic that I've been very passionate about in the past. You may think because I'm a Christian that I stand with the right and say that abortion is wrong. But if you really know me, which honestly only a very few do, then you know that I would feel differently. So here's my take on the whole thing...
For me, abortion isn't an option, for me! I've known people who've had abortions...who've used it as their own form of birth control. I've never been angry at them...my heart has been sad...my mind has been sad that this is the only choice they could make...that they didn't have any other options (at least that they could see). I've never been angry enough to hate on them, call them a murderer or discourage...only the opposite...I've pour more love out to them.
For me abortion isn't the answer, for me, but I'm not in the position to define the answer for another woman. God gave us free will and in his infinite knowledge and wisdom he knew these questions would arise and he allowed them to. In my opinion, this topic has never really been about God. It's a cover in a layer of God, but it's not about Him.
Christians call it murder, yet they've killed in the name of God for hundreds of years (including blowing up clinics). They say this isn't of God but, in turn, call the victims of rape or child molestation seeking a remedy a slut. And in truth, how many Christians have snuck their teenage daughters (or mistresses) into clinics to have it done?
Would I do it now, NO...but as the victim of molestation as a child...if I had found myself in this unfortunate situation I would have done it without looking back and I would not force any young girl or woman who fell victim to endure it either.
You may be reading this thinking I'm a bad Christian...that's fine. But I can't judge a woman's decision, it's not my place. Every woman is entitled to make a decision for herself. Then she will stand before her god and tell her story.
This whole uproar about the commercial is disturbing to me. The ad hasn't aired, no one has seen it or really knows what it's about...so far it's all speculation. I mean, it could be about how not all home schooled kids are freaks! or it could be about missions work. I'm disturbed that these groups of women who fight for freedoms would try to deny another group their freedom of speech. And that people, is what it all comes down to! Denying people their freedoms.
This country was built on freedom, for white men. Along the way everyone else had to fight to get any little bit of it. And along the way "God's" chosen people (as they've always called themselves) have stood up against them. This is just another form and shape of the same story. They call this murder...well if it's murder, then let's bring our service men and women home (ALL OF THEM), if this is murder then stop the death penalty, if this is indeed murder then we have to stop ALL murder...period.
For me, abortion is not in my plans, but until we can stop rapists and child molesters then I will view is as a necessary thing. And I'll forever be sadden by the women who choose it as a response to their mistakes. But I won't take their right to chose away.
Neither should you.

Headlines and Heartbreaks!!!!
9/11
Today is the Anniversary of 9/11. I am sure we all remember where we were when we first heard that a plane hit the twin towers....when we watched them fall...when we heard the stories of the brave men and women that didn't escape...and when the firemen raised the flag above the site.
I'm sure you remember the first time you heard of Al'Queda and Osama Bin Laden....who the Hijackers were...and that because of a strong few the last plane did not reach it's target! I'm sure you remember what that day was like, whether you were directly involved or just a witness...you remember.
I think we can live everyday with the memory of those events in our minds and hearts, and we see reminders of it on our television sets every evening. This day is special, but not because of the devastation, because of the hope. In all this... within families, communities and as a nation we came together to honor those who we lost and to show the world that the Sleeping Giant had been roused from sleep once again. It's been a hard eight years, but we have continued to stand strong as a country and most importantly we have continued to hope.
God Bless America, the families that lost and a country that remembers!
Caster Semenya
My heart goes out to this young woman, she comes out of no where to win and because she doesn't "look" like what the world says a girl should look like her identity is called into question. She was subjected to gender testing...and not quietly either! She was set out there in front of the whole world and told "we think you're a man". I know if that was me, I'd be completely and utterly devastated...but she seemed to handle the situation with grace...submitting to the tests and giving interviews telling the world that she is a woman.
Yesterday news broke that she is a woman...although not completely. It seems that Caster, has both male and female parts (the male parts being inside her body...so she never knew anything about them). She has been put out in the world as a hermaphrodite, something that most people would not want anyone to know. Now, that this news is out there the committee in charge of her sport has to decide if she can continue to participate in it.
I feel for her, and I hope that these people do right by her...after completely turning her life upside down I hope they do not take from her the thing that she loves to do!
President Obama and that Senator
I didn't watch President Obama's speech (I will...it's the power of YouTube) but I did hear about the Senator who blurted out Liar! in the middle of it....my first reaction (I'm assuming like most black people) was "OH, NO HE DIDN'T!" "He only did that because he's black" "How Rude!"...and still thinking about it today I still think those things...but also I'm starting to think about it in a different way.
I'm not a movie talker, I go to the movies to escape and I DO NOT appreciate people interrupting my happy time. But sometimes...I'm so into the movie that I can't help but blurt something out....its happened 3 times...all three times my strong opinion just came bursting out of my mouth it was uncontrollable and unstoppable. I think this may have been what happened to that senator!
Now, I'm not justifying what this man did. I think it was rude and unnecessary. No one ever yelled out liar to W. when we ALL knew he was lying, why... because we have respect for the office even if we don't have respect for the man. Saying that, I do think that he was suffering from a moment of overwhelming emotional conflict and couldn't keep it to himself. Though he is wrong (and clearly didn't read the bill) he believes that the President was lying about something. And he just couldn't keep it to himself. I don't know if he doesn't respect the man in office (that's not the point), but he clearly doesn't respect the office....or maybe it's as simple as calling a White Republican Senator from South Carolina what we all have thought but none have actually said....maybe the man is racist and he's views and anything the President ever attempts to do will be (in this man's mind) unreasonable and irresponsible.
I really don't know he's deal, but I do know that respect is respect and this man is lacking it greatly...but that just shows you what the people of South Carolina are really about...he is, after all, THEIR elected representative!

If you know me, you know that I love to watch sports....Well most sports. I have a team in most every professional sporting league (except football), and I don't start watching the new season until my current season is over....For example. I can't watch basketball until NASCAR is done and I can't watch Baseball until Basketball is done and so on. Previously I showed you why I watch NASCAR. Well this past Sunday (11-19) was the last race of the NASCAR season, so now I must move on to my boys in Dallas. The Mavericks are my favorite NBA team. And I'm looking forward to a great season. Last year, we went to the finals and this year we're are taking the championship home. Now although we have started off kind of weak, I think we can make it up. I can't wait to actually sit and watch a full game.
The only thing is have to figure out is what I'm going to do in February when NASCAR starts again. Oh, that's gonna be tough.
